Metric scope

Supply counts published, publicly verified, non-demo sites. Reported IT MW can include planned capacity and does not mean capacity available now. Generation GW is tracked electrical capacity across live, construction and development records with disclosed capacity, not IT capacity or grid headroom. Network objects are not available grid capacity. Demand MW is a different measure. Source and methodology

From market context to site-specific diligence

Reduced motion
  1. Generation context

Compare the recorded generation mix and separate operating assets from pipeline

  2. Network context

Locate mapped substations and line segments around a candidate site

  3. Operator verification

Confirm connection capacity, timing and conditions directly with the operator

Mapped infrastructure and generation capacity do not certify available grid connections. Connection capacity, delivery timing and conditions must be verified with the operator. Network geometry includes attributed open mapping; source scope and completeness vary.

Common questions

Before you request access

Does coverage include every site?

PowerlandMap covers operational data centers, facilities under construction and projects in development across the markets shown on our coverage page. We bring together information from operators, public authorities, planning documents and other identified sources so you can compare markets and investigate individual sites.

The database is not an exhaustive register of every facility. Some projects have not been publicly announced, and the level of detail available differs between countries and operators. The published totals reflect the records that meet our publication criteria. For a specific search, use the coverage page to check the markets represented and review each site's sources, project stage and verification date before building your shortlist.

How current are records?

Records are updated as new information is verified, for example when an operator announces an expansion, a planning decision is published or a project moves into construction. Each record carries the date of the underlying source and its last verification date, so you can see when the information was published and when we last checked it.

Our core European markets follow a rolling 90-day verification cycle. A record that has not been re-verified within 90 days is flagged for attention. Other markets follow the coverage and review frequency agreed for the account. The timestamp beside a dashboard total shows when that total was calculated; it does not mean every underlying site was checked that day.

Is IT MW the same as electrical or demand MW?

These figures describe different things. IT MW refers to the power allocated to computing equipment. Electrical MW refers to the wider facility supply or load, which also supports cooling and other building systems. Demand MW describes a requirement recorded in the demand dataset, rather than capacity supplied by a site.

As an illustration, a 10 MW IT load at an assumed PUE of 1.20 would correspond to approximately 12 MW of total facility load. This is a calculation example, not evidence that a 12 MW grid connection has been secured. PowerlandMap distinguishes source-reported IT capacity from modelled estimates and identifies whether a figure relates to an operating facility or a planned phase. A published capacity figure alone does not confirm space available to lease, power available to connect or a committed delivery date.

When does paid access begin?

We first review your application and confirm the appropriate plan and scope of access. For Professional, access is activated once your application has been approved and payment has been confirmed. Opening a checkout page or submitting a payment instruction does not, by itself, activate the account.

For Team Intelligence and Enterprise, the users, coverage, commercial terms and activation arrangements are set out in the order form. If you want to assess the platform first, the 30-day evaluation provides one named user with access to the core terminal within an agreed coverage scope. Its fee is €790 excluding VAT. The free public demo is a separate experience and does not open a paid subscription.

How many seats and what commitment?

Professional includes one named user at €790 per month, excluding VAT, with an initial three-month commitment. It then continues monthly. Team Intelligence includes up to five named users at €2,990 per month, excluding VAT, with a twelve-month commitment. Enterprise starts at €7,500 per month, excluding VAT, for up to fifteen named users and a twelve-month commitment.

Subscriptions are billed monthly unless annual prepayment is agreed. Each user has an individual account; credentials cannot be shared. The separate 30-day evaluation covers one named user for the agreed evaluation period. Your accepted subscription terms or signed order form confirm the user allowance, scope and commitment that apply to your organisation.

Can I export or redistribute data?

A standard subscription allows your named users to consult PowerlandMap within the platform for your organisation's internal analysis. It does not include a general right to download the database, copy records into another system or redistribute the data. Short, occasional quotations in internal documents are permitted under the Terms when attributed to PowerlandMap.

If you need an export, an API feed, use in client deliverables or another form of reuse outside the platform, the scope and licence must be expressly agreed in writing. This also applies to publication, resale and use in a third-party database, CRM or AI system. Any permitted data delivery is defined in the signed agreement, including what may be supplied and how it may be used.

For the definitions behind the figures and how we verify records, read our methodology. Our coverage page shows the markets currently represented. You can also browse the Market Study catalogue, where each research edition includes a free three-page sample.
