Introducing Player Intelligence for the global data center market
Explore data center players by category, geography and project stage with global maps, visual comparisons and an evidence-led view of the pipeline.

Who is operating, building and investing in data centers, and where are their activities concentrated?
Player Intelligence brings these questions into one visual module within PowerlandMap. It connects players, geographic exposure and project stages to support market screening, prospecting and competitive research.
Watch the module in action
The English walkthrough shows the actual module, including the global overview, player rankings, geographic heatmap, comparison cards and pipeline view. Operator-level site counts are blurred in this public video.
Six categories in a shared view
The classification framework covers six groups.
- Investment funds for examining recorded investment and ownership relationships.
- Hyperscalers for exploring the geographic footprint of major cloud platforms.
- Colocation operators for comparing operators across markets.
- Edge operators for identifying distributed infrastructure players.
- Enterprise for understanding corporate infrastructure exposure.
- AI and neocloud players for following the companies developing AI-focused infrastructure.
Filters help narrow the selection by player category, geography and project stage. Records that have not yet been classified remain explicitly identified.
Move from a global map to a focused comparison
The overview combines a world map with regional lifecycle charts. It helps users see where recorded activity is concentrated and how the selection is distributed across operating sites, construction projects and development pipelines.
The Players view adds rankings, a geographic heatmap and a searchable directory. Select up to four players to compare their exposure using the same filters. Each chart identifies its scope, including when a ranking reflects the current directory page.
This supports practical research questions. Which colocation operators appear in a target market? Where are AI infrastructure players represented? How does the recorded project mix differ between the players on a shortlist?
Read the pipeline with its evidence
The Ownership view brings together reviewed relationships where evidence is available. The Pipeline view distinguishes source projects and their targets from reviewed incremental delivery.
This distinction matters when assessing future supply. An announced project, a development target and an operational facility represent different levels of maturity. The module keeps these stages visible instead of presenting them as interchangeable capacity.
Understand what the figures represent
Player Intelligence currently provides an inventory-based view. Source records are not a deduplicated count of physical assets, and attributed exposure can overlap between players. Physical-site identities, ownership relationships and IT capacity require separate review. Capacity in MW is shown only when supported by reviewed allocations. Missing information is not treated as zero.
Coverage and classification continue to evolve as the database is enriched. The module is designed to make those limits visible while giving users a consistent way to explore the available evidence.

The data behind the analysis
Follow Data Centers with sourced, dated evidence
Each analysis draws on qualified supply records, anonymised demand signals and evidence-based matching. The underlying records retain their sources, confidence levels and verification dates.
